Ion District’s New Pickleball Courts
We offer six pickleball courts, including two slightly narrower covered courts (Court 5 and Court 6). Courts are available for hourly rental, with a maximum of two hours per session, with the exception of league play and private events.
Court Rental Rates:
Non-peak times (before 6pm on weekdays): $20/hour
Peak times (after 6pm on weekdays & weekends): $25/hour
Discounts
Rice students and Ion District employees receive a 20% discount.

Monday – Friday: 4 PM – 10 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 10 AM -8 PM

Our court reservations calendar, below, will display available times, as well as display reservations, leagues, and private events. Outside food and drinks are allowed, but alcoholic beverages and glass containers are prohibited. Alcoholic beverages can be enjoyed across the street within our Ion District restaurants.

Yes! You can rent a Diadem paddle (7.6 ounce glass fiber) for $5.
Yes! We sell official Diadem balls for $5 or 3 for $12. We do not rent balls.
Yes! You are encouraged to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. NO glass containers are allowed. Alcohol is prohibited.
Yes! Pets must be on a leash and supervised at all times. They are NOT allowed on the pickleball courts.
Yes! All ages are welcome. Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Courts can be reserved directly on our website in the calendar below or at our partner’s site, sportsmonkey.com. If you go to Sportsmonkey, click on the Pickle Lab tab, create a free member account and sign our waiver. Once your member account is completed, go to our court reservations calendar and reserve your court! Payments must be made in advance.
Courts 5 & 6 have complete roof coverage, but the sides of the building are not completely insulated and there is no AC or heat. These courts are also slightly smaller in width due to space restrictions.
The ratings range from a 1.0 (beginner) to a 6.0 (professional). Generally, a beginner or recreational player will be between a 1.0 – 2.0. An intermediate level player will be between a 2.5 – 3.5. An advanced-level player will be between a 4.0 – 5.0.
You can cancel online with a full refund up to 12 hours before your reservation.
No refunds will be issued if it is less than 12 hours, unless inclement weather closes the facility.
