Join us for an exhilarating morning of inspiration and insight as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with two remarkable Hispanic leaders who have left an indelible mark on the Houston community: Dr. Laura Murillo, President and CEO of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Luis Silva, Vice President and General Manager, South Texas Market at AT&T.

This special edition of our renowned speaker series, Visionary Voices, we are excited to spotlight two leaders who have forged remarkable career paths while simultaneously making a positive impact on the lives of others. Prepare to be inspired as we dive into thought-provoking conversations around the importance of diversity and inclusion in tech, the state of Latino representation, how we can bridge the gap for students and professionals in STEM-related fields, and more!

This event is free and open to all Houston area professionals, employers, entrepreneurs, students, and anyone interested in the dynamic convergence of Hispanic heritage and innovation. We welcome corporate leaders, ERGs, tech enthusiasts, and community builders to join us for this important conversation.

  • 8:00-9:00 AM: Breakfast Networking Reception – Enjoy delicious coffee and breakfast from a Hispanic-owned restaurant and connect with corporate leaders, employees and employee resource groups (ERGs), entrepreneurs, innovation enthusiasts, diversity champions, and community leaders. This is YOUR opportunity to foster new relationships and strengthen existing ones.
  • 9:00-10:00 AM: Fireside Chat with Dr. Laura Murillo and Luis Silva with Q&A – Engage in an enlightening conversation as we delve into the experiences, challenges, and successes of both esteemed leaders.

Speakers: 

  • Dr. Laura Murillo – Dr. Murillo is the President and CEO of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Founding President and CEO of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation, a founding executive producer, host and podcaster, and an international bestselling author. In 2022, the Houston Business Journal named her Outstanding Diversity Champion and also honored her with the 2022 HBJ Diversity in Business Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • Luis Silva – Luis Silva is the Vice President and General Manager of the South Texas market at AT&T, responsible for overall growth, capital investment, and performance of both the wireless and fiber networks across Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Tropical Texas. Luis has been in this role since April 2021 after serving as the Chief Revenue Officer at AT&T in Mexico, the fastest-growing telecommunications company in the country.
