This is part two of the new series from Rice University Leading Engineering and Technology Innovation in the Digital Revolution.

The series is designed to expose engineers at corporations and scaling startups to skills needed to lead engineering without leaving engineering. It is brought to you by Rice University’s engineering faculty in collaboration with Ion. Rice faculty will provide introductions to concepts to help engineers take leadership roles in producing the best products and services for the market.

About the Speaker

Uyiosa Abusomwan, Ph.D. joined the faculty at Rice University in 2021 as a Lecturer in the Master of Engineering Management and Leadership (MEML) program. 

Uyiosa is an experienced leader in the development and deployment of innovative technologies. He held multiple roles in engineering, new technology development, reliability management, and digital transformation. Uyiosa is also a senior global technology manager for digital engineering at Eaton, where he leads corporate strategies on digital design, facilitating the integration of emerging technologies to enhance engineering efficiency and streamline product lifecycle management. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Uyiosa’s experiences position him as an advocate and passionate leader in product development, product lifecycle management, and digital engineering.
