Our guest speaker\, Marshall Whitney\, will discuss tips and techniques from his experience founding\, operating\, and scaling his design and fabrication company\, Raum Industries. \nMarshall Whitney is the founder and president of Raum Industries\, a Houston-based design/build shop. After a decade of corporate project management experience\, Raum was started in 2016 as a simple furniture atelier focusing on custom builds for residential and commercial markets. One project led to another and he now employs over 30 people who specialize in product design\, manufacturing\, and steel fabrication in both architectural and industrial spaces. Value is created at Raum for its customers by using the concept of “design for manufacturing” – a process that both accelerates delivery times and lowers costs. DESCRIPTION:How can Office Hours at the Ion help you?  \nOffice Hours at the Ion exist to introduce people to the Ion\, our events\, resources\, programs\, and partners that support the entrepreneurial journey. \nOffice Hours aims to support people who are seeking their next step in taking their idea to an enterprise by illuminating pathways to success for founders and small business owners. For example\, maybe you have a draft business plan and need a mentor. Perhaps you are a small business owner and need to know about funding options. Maybe you would like to learn more about incubators and accelerator programs for tech-enabled companies. \nIon office hours are held in collaboration with SCORE each Friday morning (excluding holidays). \n Additional partners will be on site the second Friday of each month (excluding holidays).  \nResource tables include: \nIon \nThe Small Business Administration \nSCORE  \nLiftFund \nSmall Business Development Center \nOur office hours will occur  after the Cup of Joey networking event in the lobby.  Representatives of the above organizations are subject to availability.

Everyone from seasoned entrepreneurs to educators or “just a person with an idea” is welcome. Walk-ins are served on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nThe initial discussion is at no cost\, but subsequent meetings may require a consultation fee.\nFor more information about the IPL – be sure to check out their website and sign up for their newsletter to stay connected!
